Savannah-Newton Challenger Little League (SNCLL)

The Little League Challenger Program is Little League’s adaptive baseball program for individuals with physical and developmental challenges.  SNCLL has been around for many years and have started some fun traditions that participants enjoy year after year.

Any individual with a physical or intellectual challenge may participate.
The Little League Challenger Division accommodates players ages 4-18, or up to age 22 if still enrolled in school.  If enough interest exists, a Senior League Challenger Division may be started intended for players 15 and above (no maximum age).

Playing rules for Challenger are simple.  Flexibility and adaptability are key components when playing Challenger games.  Typically games are 1-2 innings long and last about an hour. All players play defensively and bat every inning.

Buddies are individuals who assist Challenger athletes in the areas of batting, base running and defense, but only as needed. Often buddies are peer athletes who are participating in the Little League Baseball or Softball program.  Parents, teenagers and other worthy volunteers make great buddies as well. Read more on the responsibility of buddies.

SNCLL practices and games are held on Saturday mornings at Canopy Oaks Community Park.  With registrations starting in mid-February, the season usually starts in late March and runs through early May.  These fields are traditional ones with real clay and grass so that participants can enjoy playing on the same type of field as their peers.
